📢 ChatGPT Go Expands, Ads Begin U.S. Testing
OpenAI is expanding lower-cost access to ChatGPT while preparing to test advertising inside the product. ChatGPT Go is now available everywhere ChatGPT runs, including the U.S. Ads will be tested soon for Free and Go users.

The Shift:
1. ChatGPT Go Adds More for $8 - Go includes expanded messaging, image creation, file uploads, and memory for $8 per month. It launched in 171 countries and is now available in the U.S. Premium tiers stay ad-free.
Ads will be shown at the bottom of responses as clearly labeled sponsored recommendations. They will be based on the current conversation context. Users can dismiss ads and share feedback.
2. Responses Stay Independent and Private - OpenAI says ads will not influence ChatGPT answers, which stay optimized for usefulness. Conversations will not be shared with advertisers, and user data will not be sold. Personalization can be turned off.
Ads will not appear for under-18 users based on user signals or prediction. Ads also will not run near sensitive or regulated topics like health, mental health, or politics. This reduces misuse risk.
OpenAI may expand ads into more interactive formats where users can ask questions before buying. The test phase will shape how much ad targeting is tolerated in assistants. Takeaway, monitor performance and trust impact early.
TOGETHER WITH GLADLY.AI
How much could AI save your support team?
Peak season is here. Most retail and ecommerce teams face the same problem: volume spikes, but headcount doesn't.
Instead of hiring temporary staff or burning out your team, there’s a smarter move. Let AI handle the predictable stuff, like answering FAQs, routing tickets, and processing returns, so your people focus on what they do best: building loyalty.
Gladly’s ROI calculator shows exactly what this looks like for your business: how many tickets AI could resolve, how much that costs, and what that means for your bottom line. Real numbers. Your data.

🧠 OpenAI Backs BCIs, Quietly Ships Translate
OpenAI made two moves that expand how people interact with AI, a seed investment into brain-computer interfaces and a new translation product. The translation tool has not been officially announced yet. Together, these signal a push beyond chat into new interfaces and daily utilities.

The Shift:
1. ChatGPT Translate Goes Standalone - OpenAI launched ChatGPT Translate, a web translation tool supporting 50+ languages, mirroring Google Translate’s two-box layout but adds style presets like “make it more business formal.”
ChatGPT Translate is text-only on desktop and supports voice on mobile browsers. Image translation is mentioned, but not available yet. There is also no dedicated mobile app announced.
2. OpenAI Invests in Merge Labs - OpenAI joined Merge Labs’ seed round to support brain-computer interfaces as a future AI input method. Merge is developing safer, higher-bandwidth approaches combining biology, devices, and AI.
Merge needs AI systems that can read intent from limited, noisy brain signals and adapt to individuals. OpenAI will collaborate on scientific foundation models and frontier tools to accelerate research.
Merge Labs is a long-term interface bet, while Translate is an immediate workflow grab, even without an official launch announcement. Both reduce friction between intent and output. Takeaway: expect more quiet product rollouts that challenge default tools.

🚀Quick Shifts
⚡ Trump wants PJM to add $15B in new generation, pushing Big Tech to fund 15 year power contracts even if they never use the capacity, as data center demand could triple. Rates already rose 10 to 15% in 2025, and fossil fuels drove ~60% of that jump.
⚖️ California AG Rob Bonta hit xAI with a cease-and-desist over Grok generating nonconsensual sexual deepfakes, including women and children, calling it “shocking” and potentially illegal. The state also launched a formal investigation into xAI.
🎬 Google’s Flow AI videomaker is now available inside Workspace for Business, Enterprise, and Education users, expanding beyond AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
🚀 OpenAI is rolling out ChatGPT Go globally for $8 per month, sitting between Free and Plus. It delivers more GPT 5.2 Instant usage, plus extra file uploads, image generation, and a larger memory and context window for heavier everyday users.
🚨 Musk is demanding $79B to $134B from OpenAI and Microsoft, arguing his $38M seed role plus early contributions entitle him to a massive slice of OpenAI’s ~$500B valuation. The real story is leverage, not money, because even $134B barely moves a ~$700B fortune.
