🧠 AI Now Outperforms Humans in Emotional Intelligence Tests

A new study from the University of Geneva and the University of Bern reveals that AI models like GPT-4 and Claude 3.5 now surpass humans on emotional intelligence benchmarks. With scores as high as 82% versus the human average of 56%, these systems can interpret feelings, navigate complex emotional situations, and even build new tests themselves.

The Shift:

1. AI Beats Humans at Emotional IQ  - Six leading models were tested using standard emotional intelligence assessments. GPT-4, Claude 3.5 Haiku, and others scored an average of 81%, while humans trailed far behind at 56%. GPT-4 even scored a 9.7/10 in psychologist-verified evaluations.

2. ChatGPT-4 Can Design Valid Emotional Tests - Beyond passing tests, GPT-4 generated new emotional assessments rated equivalent in difficulty and accuracy to official ones. This ability to both take and build emotional evaluations suggests it understands emotional logic, not just mimics it.

3. AI is Already Filling Human Empathy Roles - From therapy bots to emotionally adaptive tutors, AI is being deployed in high-empathy contexts. Its advantages, no fatigue, no bias, and constant availability, make it ideal for fields like mental health and education.

Emotional intelligence is no longer a human monopoly. AI is not just thinking better, it’s responding with more emotional accuracy than most people. As these systems integrate deeper into society, we must grapple with how "emotional machines" reshape trust, therapy, leadership, and human connection itself.

🚀 Lovable: Build Full-Stack Web Apps with Just a Prompt

If you can describe your idea, Lovable can build the app.

This AI-native dev platform turns plain English into working web applications, no coding required. From frontend design to backend deployment, it’s all handled in one place.

And yes, it’s production-grade. Every major capability is already marked Mature.

🔧 What You Can Build with Lovable

Lovable covers the entire stack:

  • Frontend / UI – Instantly generates responsive, usable interfaces.

  • Persistence – Stores and retrieves data like any proper backend.

  • Authentication – Add logins and user accounts without extra setup.

  • Backend Endpoint – Connects securely to APIs like OpenAI.

  • Deployment – Launch to a custom domain with a click.

  • Collaboration – Build together in real time (now in beta).

  • Real-time Sync – Syncs data across users instantly for live updates.

How It Works

  1. Describe your app in plain English: Example: “Build a project tracker with team collaboration and task status updates.”

  2. Lovable generates the full stack: UI, backend logic, auth, storage, and even real-time syncing if needed.

  3. Edit and preview your app instantly: Tweak the output using AI-powered editing or your own touches via the built-in tools.

  4. Deploy and share: One-click deployment, with options for custom domains and team collaboration.

Why It Matters

Lovable isn’t just another no-code tool. It’s a dev cofounder in your browser tab. It understands your goals, generates real architecture, and delivers production-ready results instantly. Start here: https://lovable.so

📱 Google Releases New App to Run AI Models Locally on Your Phone

Google has quietly launched AI Edge Gallery, a new app that lets users run Hugging Face models offline, right from their phones. While still in experimental alpha, the app is already drawing attention for its ability to deliver powerful AI functionality, without the cloud.

The Shift:

1. AI at your fingertips, no internet needed - Google AI Edge Gallery lets Android users download and run open-source models locally, with iOS support coming soon. It taps into the phone’s built-in processors, removing the need for cloud access or data sharing.

2. Hugging Face models power image, chat, and code tasks - The app connects to Hugging Face and recommends models for common tasks like Q&A, summarization, code generation, and image analysis. For instance, tapping “AI Chat” shows suitable models like Google’s Gemma 3n. It also includes a Prompt Lab where users can test templates or tweak model behavior for single-turn use cases.

3. Speed varies based on device and model size - Google cautions that performance will depend on hardware; newer phones with stronger chipsets will run tasks more smoothly. Larger models may lag when performing tasks like image interpretation, while smaller ones respond faster.

4. Open source and developer-focused from day one - AI Edge Gallery is licensed under Apache 2.0, so it can be freely used in commercial projects or modified by devs. Google has released the app on GitHub and is encouraging community feedback to shape future versions.

Edge AI is now more than a trend, it’s a practical reality. With this quiet but strategic release, Google is empowering users to run advanced AI tools locally, which could unlock safer, faster, and more personalized experiences across devices. As models shrink and hardware improves, expect this edge-first approach to become the norm.
