⚖️ Anthropic Takes The Pentagon To Court Over AI Blacklist
A major confrontation between an AI company and the U.S. government has moved into the courts. Anthropic is suing the Trump administration after being labeled a defense supply-chain risk. The company argues the decision punishes its stance on AI safety.

The Shift:
1. Anthropic Says The Blacklist Misuses Supply-Chain Law - Anthropic argues the supply-chain risk designation was created to stop threats from foreign adversaries, not to punish a U.S. company for disagreements over AI policy or military use.
2. Company Claims Government Retaliated Over AI Safety Views - Anthropic says the Pentagon retaliated against the company for publicly advocating limits on using AI for surveillance and autonomous weapons, calling the action a violation of free speech protections.
3. Anthropic Files Two Lawsuits To Block The Blacklist - The company filed lawsuits in two federal courts asking judges to remove the label and stop agencies from cutting ties, while 30+ OpenAI and Google staffers backed the case, warning it could weaken U.S. AI leadership.
This case could become the first real legal precedent for AI governance in national security. It is not just about Anthropic. It is about whether governments can pressure AI labs to loosen safety restrictions when national security interests are involved.

🔐 AI Starts Policing Its Own Code
AI coding tools are dramatically increasing how fast software gets written. But faster code creation has exposed a new bottleneck across engineering teams. Security reviews and pull request checks are struggling to keep up.

The Decode:
Codex Security analyzes repositories to understand system architecture, builds an editable threat model, then searches for vulnerabilities, validates findings in sandbox environments, and proposes fixes aligned with the application’s real behavior.
Across beta deployments, Codex Security scanned 1.2M+ commits, identifying 792 critical and 10,561 high-severity issues, while reducing security noise 84%, cutting severity over-reporting 90%, and lowering false positives 50%.
Anthropic’s Claude Code Review automatically analyzes pull requests, using multiple AI agents to examine logic errors across the codebase and leave step-by-step explanations and suggested fixes directly within GitHub reviews.
Claude Code Review targets large engineering teams generating massive AI-assisted code output, with automated reviews costing roughly $15–$25 per pull request, prioritizing critical logic issues rather than superficial style feedback.
The first wave of AI focused on writing code faster. The second wave is about keeping that code safe. As AI generates more software than humans can realistically audit, companies are deploying AI systems that review pull requests, detect vulnerabilities, and even propose patches before the code reaches production.
