🤖 Apple’s “Veritas” Chatbot Fuels Siri’s AI Overhaul
Apple is quietly pressure-testing the future of Siri through an internal chatbot called Veritas. Designed as a ChatGPT-style app for employees only, Veritas aims to fast-track Apple’s long-overdue AI upgrades while the company wrestles with delays and a rapidly intensifying AI race.

The Shift:
1️⃣ Internal AI Sandbox - Veritas enables Apple staff to simulate natural conversations, experiment with in-app actions like photo editing, and refine personal-data search, all critical features planned for the next-gen Siri.
2️⃣ Technology & Timeline - The chatbot evaluates the new “Linwood” system, which integrates Apple’s proprietary models and third-party AI. Development setbacks have pushed Siri’s AI relaunch to March 2026, with internal reshuffles and talent exits reflecting the pressure.
3️⃣ Strategic Direction - Apple isn’t positioning Veritas as a public ChatGPT rival. Instead, the tested capabilities will quietly fold into Siri, and Apple may even rely on Google’s Gemini for AI-powered search.
This move signals Apple’s cautious but determined AI strategy: perfect core functionality before going public. For users and developers, it means a more capable Siri is coming, albeit later, while Apple sidesteps the crowded chatbot market to focus on seamless, device-integrated intelligence.

⚠️ AI “Workslop” Is Quietly Taxing Teams
A joint Stanford and BetterUp Labs study reveals that generative AI is creating a hidden productivity crisis. While AI adoption has surged, so has “workslop” polished but hollow AI outputs that shift real work downstream and undermine team collaboration.

The Shift:
1️⃣ Productivity Tax - 41% of surveyed employees reported receiving workslop recently. Each instance consumes 116 minutes to fix, adding up to an invisible $186 monthly loss per worker, and millions in annual costs for large organizations.
2️⃣ Sector Hotspots - About 15.4% of workplace content fits the workslop profile, hitting professional services and tech hardest, and circulating mostly peer-to-peer, with fewer cases from managers.
3️⃣ Collaboration Erosion - Recipients often judge senders as less creative, reliable, or trustworthy, with 42% losing trust and many avoiding future collaboration, threatening long-term team dynamics.
Workslop is more than a nuisance, it’s a cultural and financial drain. Leaders must set clear AI-use guardrails and model thoughtful AI practices to prevent polished but empty outputs from eroding productivity and workplace trust.
