🤖 Google Expands Gemini Lineup

Google introduced three new Gemini models while giving an update on its delayed flagship release and confirming work has begun on Gemini 4.

The Shift:

Three New Models - Google released Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber, with the new models aimed at improving speed, efficiency, and cybersecurity tasks rather than making a big leap in overall capability.

Flash Still Trails Rivals - While Gemini 3.6 Flash is more efficient than its predecessor, benchmark results show it performs similarly to 3.5 Flash and still trails competitors like Grok 4.5 and GPT-5.6 Luna in several tests.

Pro Release Delayed - Logan Kilpatrick, Google's AI Studio product lead, said Gemini 3.5 Pro is currently "testing with partners" and "will hopefully land soon," indicating the flagship model is still undergoing final validation.

Gemini 4 Training Begins - Google also confirmed it has started training Gemini 4, describing it as its "most ambitious pre-training run yet," signaling the company's next-generation model is already in development.

Google is continuing to roll out faster, more specialized Gemini models while its flagship remains in testing. At the same time, development of Gemini 4 suggests the company is already preparing for its next major release.

📸 Adobe Adds AI Photo Coach

Adobe is testing new AI features in its Project Indigo camera app that go beyond editing by helping users improve how they take photos.

The Shift:

Photo Feedback - Project Indigo can now review your photos, offering feedback on framing, lighting, colors, and overall impact, while suggesting how to retake the shot or improve it using Lightroom tools.

Smarter Editing - The app can automatically remove background people, wires, fences, vehicles, trash, and other clutter, while also generating background blur and applying different artistic styles.

Prompt-Free Controls - Project lead Marc Levoy says finding the right editing prompt can be difficult, so many of the new AI tools rely on simple buttons that produce more consistent, predictable results instead of text prompts.

Still Experimental - The features, powered by Google's Gemini-based Nano Banana, are currently available to a limited group of iOS testers and may change before a wider release.
