🤖 OpenAI Released a New Default Model and Moved Up Its Phone Timeline
OpenAI replaced its default ChatGPT model with GPT-5.5 Instant and pulled forward its first AI phone launch by a full year, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, two significant moves in the same week.

The Shift:
New Default Model - GPT-5.5 Instant replaces GPT-5.3 Instant as ChatGPT's default. It reduces hallucinations in law, medicine, and finance while scoring higher on math and reasoning benchmarks.
Context Management Is Key - The model searches past conversations, files, and Gmail for more personalized answers. Memory sources are now visible across all models, so users can delete or correct them.
Privacy Worth Noting - If you share a chat, the recipient cannot see your memory sources. GPT-5.3 remains available via API for paid users for three months before retirement.
Phone Coming Sooner - Kuo reports OpenAI is targeting mass production of its first AI phone in early 2027, a full year earlier than planned, driven by IPO ambitions and rising competition in the AI phone market.
The Specs Matter - An enhanced image signal processor powers real-world visual sensing for AI agents. MediaTek supplies the chips with two processors handling vision and language simultaneously. Shipments could hit 30 million by 2028.
OpenAI's last model withdrawal triggered real backlash. GPT-4o users called it their best friend and signed petitions. The same dynamic could play out again as the default switches over.

🤩How to Extract and Use Design Systems With Refero Styles
Find a design you love. Pull every token out of it. Hand it straight to your agent.

Step 1: Search by what you actually mean: Browse by brand, mood, color, typography, or paste a URL. No guessing what something is called, search the way you think about design.
Step 2: Open any style: Click into any reference and get a full breakdown, colors, typography, spacing, and components all extracted and organized automatically.
Step 3: Grab the DESIGN.md: Every style comes with a DESIGN.md file your AI agent can read directly. Drop it into your project, and your agent builds with the right visual language from the first prompt.
Instead of describing your design system to an agent from scratch, hand it a DESIGN.md and skip the back and forth entirely. You can try Refero Styles here.
🏦 Anthropic Just Released 10 AI Agents Built Specifically for Financial Services
Anthropic launched 10 ready-to-run AI agent templates for financial services this week, covering pitchbook building, KYC screening, month-end close, and earnings review, deployable in days not months.

The Shift:
Ten Agents, Two Ways to Deploy - Agents run as plugins in Claude Cowork or Claude Code alongside analysts, or as autonomous Managed Agents on the Claude Platform for longer overnight workflows.
What Each Agent Contains - Every template packages domain-specific skills, governed data connectors, and subagents for sub-tasks like comparables selection. Firms can adapt any agent to their own risk policies and approval flows.
Claude Now Works Across Microsoft 365 - Claude add-ins are now live for Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Context carries automatically between apps so work started in Excel moves straight into PowerPoint without re-explaining anything.
A Bigger Data Ecosystem - New connectors from Dun & Bradstreet, IBISWorld, Verisk, Guidepoint, and Third Bridge give Claude real-time access to market data, expert interviews, and deal room documents.
Moody's Is Also In - Moody's launched an MCP app, bringing credit ratings and data on 600 million-plus public and private companies directly into Claude for compliance, credit analysis, and business development.
These updates pair best with Claude Opus 4.7, which leads the Vals AI Finance Agent benchmark at 64.37%. Users stay in the loop throughout, reviewing and approving Claude's work before anything goes to a client or gets filed.
