🎬 OpenAI Kills Sora After Six Months to Free Up Compute for Its Next Big Model
OpenAI is winding down all video products, including Sora's mobile app and API. Downloads peaked at 3.3M in November and dropped to 1.1M by February with just $2.1M in lifetime revenue. Employees called it a drag on resources.

The Shift:
Sora Dies So Spud Can Live - Altman told staff the app wasn't worth the computer. The freed-up resources go toward Spud, OpenAI's next major model expected in weeks. Altman says it can "really accelerate the economy."
Sora Team Pivots to Robotics - Sora head Bill Peebles says the team will now pursue world simulation for robotics, calling the real prize "automating the physical economy." The Sora 2 video model still lives behind the ChatGPT paywall.
Disney's $1B Deal Goes Cold - Disney had agreed to invest $1B and license its IP for Sora content in December. No money reportedly changed hands before the shutdown. The partnership is now on ice.
Bigger Reorg Is Underway - Altman is moving safety responsibilities under Mark Chen. Fidji Simo's division is being renamed to AGI Deployment. Sora's death isn't just a product cut, it's part of a sharper refocus on fewer bets with higher stakes.

🧑💻How to Browse Smarter With Norton Neo
Most AI tools sit on top of your browser. Norton Neo builds AI directly into it. Here's what that actually changes.

Step 1: Download Norton Neo: Install it as your default browser. No extensions to stack, no separate tools to open, the AI is already built in.
Step 2: Browse as normal: Search, stream, shop, and work the same way you always have. Neo runs in the background, organizing tabs and adapting to how you work without constant prompting.
Step 3: Let AI manage your tabs: Neo tracks your session context and organizes open tabs automatically, no manual grouping, no lost windows.
Step 4: Set your privacy preferences: Choose what Neo remembers or turn memory off entirely. Chats and browsing history stay local by default. Nothing leaves your machine without your say.
Step 5: Browse with built-in threat protection: Norton Web Shield blocks malicious sites and phishing attempts before you click, no separate security extension needed.
One browser. AI that adapts to you. Privacy controls you actually own. You can try Norton Neo here.

📊 Anthropic's New Data Shows Experienced Claude Users Get Better Results
Anthropic's latest Economic Index tracks Claude usage across February 2026. The headline finding: users who've been on the platform longer bring harder tasks, collaborate more, and succeed 10% more often than newer users.

The Shift:
Usage Is Diversifying and Getting More Casual - The top 10 tasks on Claude.ai dropped from 24% to 19% of traffic. Personal use rose from 35% to 42% as newer, less technical users joined. Coding is migrating to the API through Claude Code's agentic workflows.
Users Match Model to Task Complexity - Paying users choose Opus for high-value work like coding and Sonnet for simpler tasks. For every additional $10 in task wage, Opus usage rises 1.5% points on Claude.ai and 2.8% on the API.
Experience Compounds and That Creates a Gap - High-tenure users have a 10% higher conversation success rate even after controlling for task type, country, and model. They iterate more with Claude instead of just delegating.
Global Adoption Gap Is Widening - The top 20 countries now account for 48% of per-capita usage, up from 45%. Within the US, adoption is converging but slower than before. Early adopters with technical skills are pulling further ahead.
49% of jobs already have a quarter of their tasks being done on Claude. The data suggests getting good at AI compounds over time. Teams that invest in learning now will widen the gap on those who wait.
