🚦 GPT-5.6 Won't Launch For Everyone At Once
OpenAI's next flagship model is taking a different path to release. According to reports, the Trump administration asked the company to begin with a tightly controlled rollout while government officials evaluate the model's safety protections.

The Shift:
Limited First Access - OpenAI will initially make GPT-5.6 available only to a small group of government-approved partners, with access reportedly being reviewed and approved on a customer-by-customer basis.
Extra Safety Review - The request reportedly stems from GPT-5.6 reaching a capability level similar to Mythos, prompting officials to conduct additional safeguard testing before broader public availability.
Wider Release Planned - In an internal memo, Sam Altman told employees that accepting the phased rollout was the fastest route to launch, with a general release expected a few weeks later.
Not The Long-Term Plan - Altman also said OpenAI has told the White House it does not view government-by-government approval as a sustainable release model and will work toward a different long-term approach.
Frontier AI launches are increasingly becoming policy decisions as much as product launches. As models become more capable, governments are playing a larger role in determining how and when they reach the public.
✨How to Launch a Working App Without Writing Code Using Shipper
Describe it. Watch it build. Ship it the same day. Here's how.

Step 1: Describe your idea in plain English - Type what you want like you're texting a friend. No technical knowledge needed. Shipper's agentic AI reads your description, plans the architecture, and starts building.
Step 2: Watch it build in real time - Shipper designs the database, builds the login system, creates the UI, and fixes its own bugs automatically. 91% fewer issues than traditional AI code generation because it reasons before it builds.
Step 3: Open The Advisor - The Advisor runs separately from the build AI. It reads your code, watches the market, and tells you exactly what to do next — fix a UX issue, add a missing feature, adjust for mobile. It thinks one move ahead so you don't have to.
Step 4: Iterate by chatting - Change anything by describing it. No manual debugging, no back and forth with a developer. Edits happen in seconds.
Step 5: Publish - Click Publish. Shipper hosts it. Your app is live with auth, database, payments, and hosting all included.
One founder shipped a full SaaS in a weekend. Another went from idea to live product in 3 days. What used to take months now takes an afternoon.

🛡️ Anthropic Alleges Its Biggest AI Theft Yet
Anthropic says it has uncovered its largest known model distillation attack, accusing Alibaba of extracting millions of Claude conversations through fake accounts to reproduce advanced AI capabilities.

The Shift:
Large-Scale Extraction - According to Anthropic, nearly 25,000 fraudulent accounts generated 28.8 million Claude exchanges over 45 days in what it describes as its biggest recorded distillation attack.
Targeting Frontier Capabilities - The company says the activity focused on Claude's most advanced abilities, including agentic reasoning, coding assistance, and long-horizon task execution through large-scale querying.
Part Of A Pattern - Anthropic previously disclosed similar activity involving DeepSeek, Moonshot, and MiniMax, while OpenAI has also publicly raised concerns about AI model distillation by competitors.
Calls For Stronger Protections - Anthropic is urging policymakers to clarify antitrust rules for threat intelligence sharing, strengthen advanced chip export controls, and impose sanctions on labs conducting distillation attacks.
As frontier models become more valuable, protecting them is becoming as important as building them. AI companies are increasingly treating model distillation as both a competitive and national security issue, pushing for stronger technical and regulatory safeguards.

🚀Quick Shifts
🔊 ElevenLabs adopted Google’s SynthID watermarking, embedding invisible AI-generated audio markers into text-to-speech outputs. The feature is free for all users initially and will expand across all audio generations in the coming weeks.
🖼️ Adobe is acquiring Topaz Labs, bringing its AI-powered image enhancement, video upscaling, and restoration technology into Firefly and Creative Cloud while keeping Topaz’s standalone products available.
🍎 Apple raised prices across several Macs and iPads mid-cycle, citing rising memory and storage costs driven by AI demand, marking an unusual pricing move outside its typical product refresh cycle.
📊 Microsoft introduced AI Skills for Copilot in Excel, enabling reusable AI workflows with built-in skills for financial modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, and other spreadsheet tasks.
🛡️ Meta Superintelligence Labs reportedly hired the founders and team from Virtue AI, strengthening its AI safety and agent security capabilities as it expands development of advanced AI systems.
🧩 Prompt of the Day
Get the Most From Every Doctor's Appointment
Most medical appointments are over before patients ask their most important questions. A little preparation helps you communicate clearly, understand your options, and leave with a confident plan.
Turn short appointments into better healthcare decisions.
Paste the prompt: Drop this into ChatGPT, then fill in your appointment details.
