Fei-Fei Li’s World Labs has officially launched Marble, a commercial world model built to turn text, images, video, and layouts into persistent 3D environments. It expands on the beta with major upgrades in control, multimodality, and exportability. 

The Shift

1. A new class of persistent, downloadable 3D worlds - Marble converts text prompts, images, videos, or panoramas into stable 3D spaces you can revisit, refine, and export. Unlike on-the-fly world generators, Marble outputs consistent environments as Gaussian splats, meshes, or videos.

2. Multimodal creation with deep editing control - Users can build worlds from single images, multi-image sets, or short clips to capture real spaces with higher accuracy. Marble includes AI-native editing tools for object swaps, structural changes, and local retouching inside 3D scenes. 

3. Bigger environments through expansion and composition - Marble supports one-click world expansion, adding new detail where scenes start to break or feel incomplete. Composer mode lets users merge multiple worlds into a single, larger environment with full layout control.

4. Early use cases and Li’s push toward spatial intelligence - Marble targets practical needs in gaming, VFX, VR content creation, and robotics simulation workflows. Developers can generate and refine background environments in engines like Unreal or Unity.

Marble transforms world models from research demos into real creative infrastructure. It blends generative speed with creator-level control, enabling teams to build usable 3D spaces without losing artistic intent. 🤖 GPT-5.1 arrives with smarter reasoning and new ways to personalize ChatGPT

OpenAI has released GPT-5.1, a major refinement to GPT-5 focused on intelligence, clarity, and personal communication style. The update includes two upgraded models plus expanded tone controls shaped by feedback from over 800 million users, as noted by product lead Fidji Simo.

The Decode:

1. GPT-5.1 Instant becomes faster - Instant now delivers friendlier, more natural responses while improving accuracy on math, coding, and logic tasks. It uses adaptive reasoning to think more deeply only when needed, keeping simple answers fast and complex ones more reliable.

2. GPT-5.1 Thinking boosts advanced reasoning - Thinking now adjusts its reasoning time precisely to task complexity for more consistent performance. Its explanations are cleaner, with less technical clutter, making it easier to follow complex chains of thought.

3. Expanded tone presets - New style options include Professional, Candid, Quirky, Nerdy, and Cynical, alongside updated defaults. These presets reflect how people naturally guide ChatGPT, making tone-shaping quick and intuitive. Some users also gain access to a new experiment that lets them fine-tune writing style directly from settings.

4. Gradual rollout -  GPT-5.1 starts rolling out to paid plans first, then to free users, with a 3-month legacy period for GPT-5 models. API versions arrive this week, and GPT-5.1 Pro will replace the previous Pro tier. 

GPT-5.1 brings clearer reasoning, faster responses, and far more control over tone, marking a meaningful improvement over GPT-5. With smarter routing, upgraded models, and new personality presets, OpenAI calls it an “upgrade” to GPT-5 that “makes ChatGPT smarter and more enjoyable to talk to.”
